"The Rock"
When Waubonsie's second coach in program history, B.J. Luke arrived in 1988, he felt the young program needed some tradition. Luke and his staff quickly nicknamed the field "Death Valley" and Luke was also credited for starting the Warrior Chant. Overtime players and coaches have come and gone, but "The Rock" still resides in the back of the South endzone at Dick Kerner Stadium. Every player wearing the Green and Gold still touches "The Rock" before each game. Another tradition is the painting of "The Rock" every year by the Senior class. From the original coat, to 32 years later, each football class has put their own stamp on a growing tradition.
